Transparent Supply Chain
WEARBIO are dedicated to responsible sourcing which is why we are only working with partners at the vanguard in their technological field and that share WEARBIO values, including transparency and sustainability.
Manufacturing systems enable LENZING™ ECOVERO™ branded viscose fibres to be identified in the final product, even after long textile processing and conversion steps through the value chain.
Environmentally conscious consumers and responsible employers can be assured that WEARBIO incorporate genuine LENZING™ ECOVERO™ eco-responsible viscose in our products.
Why we use LENZING™ ECOVERO™
Take less, give more.
Biodegradable and compostable
LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibres are fully biodegradable under soil, freshwater and in marine environments. Due to their biodegradability, LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibres do not contribute to the marine litter and micro plastic pollution caused by synthetic materials, such as polyester and polyproyplene.
LENZING™ ECOVERO™ is also fully compostable. It has been proven that it biodegrades comparably fast in all natural environments, whereas polyester and other synthetic fibres persist for a long time.
*WEARBIO finished garments contain 5% stretch fibres for superior product performance and increased reusability. These fibres are not currently compostable. This does not affect the compostability and biodegradability of the 95% LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibres at their end-of-life. WEARBIO is committed to using state of the art, innovative materials; we are working with partners that are developing new solutions for compostable stretch fibres.
Sustainable wood and pulp sourcing/procurement
LENZING™ ECOVERO™ biodegradable fibres are made from renewable wood pulp sources and meet high environmental standards, certified with the internationally recognised EU Ecolabel. This label of environmental excellence is only awarded to products which have a significantly lower environmental impact throughout their lifecycle: from raw material extraction to production, distribution and disposal.
